Water

Clean Water
Everyday 4,200 children die of water-related diseases. Your gift will help save children from parasites, worms, dysentery, cholera and other life threatening diseases that people get from contaminated water. Help us to provide life saving education on how to clean water and water purification techniques that can be used everywhere, even without a well.

Cooking Fire Burn Victims

Burn Prevention

Open fires are common in most of the third world for heating and cooking.  Children are often severely burned.  Teaching how to build fires in safe areas and how to treat burns immediately saves lives and heartache.
This child had second and third degree burns from falling into a cooking fire.  He was treated in clinic and his mother was taught how to change his dressings and how to prevent future accidents.  His mother walked almost a full day to bring him to the clinic after the accident. (Picture from one of Annette Bosworth's clinics. )

Parasite-infected children

Worm & Parasite Treatment

Worms contribute to about 200,000 needless deaths every year. Giardia alone is highly contagious and causes severe diarrhea, vomiting and dehydration. Lives are saved with simple medicine. In clinic we often see parasite-infected children with the extended stomachs (see the picture). You can help keep parasites and worms from hurting more children by providing simple medicines and basic education to teach how to prevent getting worms and parasites in the future. Help us by providing life saving medicine and education.

War On Women

The mother is the life blood of the family, home, church and community.

Mothers are the primary focus of Meaningful Missions.  Dr. Bosworth knows the stresses that are put on mothers trying to keep up with home, church, work and civic responsibilities.

Meaningful Missions always looks for ways to "multiply our tithe" by looking for other organizations whose mission statements are to provide the care needed by the families we are serving.

Dr. Bosworth is fond of saying variations of "if it's not broke don't fix it".

Meaningful Missions has found this to be a very rewarding process.  This (use what is available) approach has allowed our organizaion to serve every county in South Dakota in the last year and over 100,000 Haitians in the last year.

Dr. Bosworth is well known for taking a stand for other mothers and their children.  Dr. Bosworth has faced gun wielding gangsters telling them ( the gangster) to respect their mothers.  Dr. Bosworth has faced gun wielding fathers and told them they where right the Mother F...... should be killed now put the gun away.  Dr. Bosworth has faced criminal prosecution for standing up for the rights of abandoned children.  Dr. Bosworth has been threatened for providing food and clothing to Native American kids.  This has been an exciting month.

Don't Do Anything Halfway!

This is a service that all of our medical teams have "hand held" ultra sounds.  This is just as meaningful in Haiti as it is in South Dakota.

Once a mother sees her babies heart beat for the first time the mom's life has new meaning this is true in South Dakota on the reservation and in Haiti.

Fall in Love

Fall in Love

Choosing your mate is the biggest decision you will make.  If you don't believe me go look at couples that have been married for a long time.  The couple will have similar habits, tastes in music, food, clothing styles.

The couple will also end up choosing a religion to raise the kids.

The couple everyday will have to make decisions that takes into account the others persons beliefs and objectives.

The small day to day decisions don't look like big choices but over the course of 10,20 or 50 years it will shape who you become.

Once you decide this "one" is the "one" I want!  Stop looking.  Be content with what you have.

Expectations are important make sure to communicate this is what I want and this is my plan for getting us there.  Then slow down long enough to make sure the plan works for your spouse.
